Are you doubting to go into the world and travel around, mostly because you’re a vegan or vegetarian? Please don’t! Nowadays vegetarianism and even veganism is growing, around the world. You can perfectly travel as a vegan while still enjoy a new culture, connect with people and eat delicious and animal- and eco friendly food. We can use so many tools and resources and this amount is only growing. Let us travel together as a community and make backpacking fun as it should be!
MAY I BE OF ANY HELP?
This blog is started with the idea to enlarge the list of resources and help out fellow vegans. Here you can find the places I’ve been to, spots I’ve eaten at and general tips. Eventually I will share recipes, hopefully inspired by my travels and possibly useful for you guys while being on the road or still at home.
USE THE INTERNET
Internet can be your best friend: with the pre-departure research or while being on the road. If internet is unavailable where you travel to, just do it old-school and take along a bunch of helpful print-outs. Like translations or places to eat at.
Probably all over the world you’ll find veggie-restaurant in databases like HappyCow, you can connect with local vegan groups through the web (MeetUp:Vegan, Facebook, VeganAroundTheWorldNetwork, etc.) and find blogs from other vegans that live or traveled where you want to go to.
Even a vegan AirBnB-lookalike called VegVisits is on its way! Let us enlarge their platform together.
Throughout many resources online and hopefully this growing blog you’ll find helpful tips and tricks to use while traveling.
REACH OUT OFFLINE
But don’t get too lost in the web and ask around in your vegan circle (if you have any). People that know you a bit more could give you personalized tips and might motivate you even more with real-life travel stories!
So don’t hesitate, no worries and use your valuable energy to start planning your trip! Enjoy!
